No. 2 North Carolina Defeats Defending Women's Champion Duke to Reach Its First Semifinal



Senior Sanaz Marand of North Carolina clinches Tar Heels victory over ACC rival Duke with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over Ellah Nze at No. 1 singles.

UNC Head Coach Brian Kalbas is quoted as saying:
“We’re very, very excited to beat Duke and advance to the semifinals for the first time ever. “(Sanaz) Marand and the freshmen really stepped up big for us today.”
