Fuller to Georgia; New USTA Regional Training Center; Hardebeck & Kosakowski Win Carson Wild Cards

College Station--

Before I start what will be a long and exciting (and hot) day in College Station, I wanted to post a few items. My story this week for The Tennis Recruiting Network is an early commitment announcement from Kate Fuller, who is going to be joining the University of Georgia team in the fall of 2010.

As mentioned in the conference call with Patrick McEnroe, there will be several announcements on Regional Training Centers in the next few months, and the first one of those will be just down the road in Austin. The Austin American-Statesman has the details here.

In last week's wild card tournament for the Carson Challenger, which will be held at the Home Depot Center beginning the 25th, unseeded 14-year-old Krista Hardebeck recorded several terrific wins over some of the best juniors in Southern California, including Kaitlyn Christian, Stephanie Hoffpauir and Pamela Montez to earn her spot in the event. Hardebeck, of Santa Ana, Calif., won the 16s International Spring Championship title on those same courts, so she has quite a winning streak going there.

Daniel Kosakowski, the No. 7 seed, won the men's wild card. For complete results, visit the TennisLink site.

Ryan Harrison won again Wednesday at the Sarasota Challenger, and faces Xavier Malisse in the quarterfinals. Nick Bollettieri's blog is following that tournament closesly.

Surprised that the WC tournament for Carsen 50K was so weak...Kosakowski splitting with Cambell Johnson in the finals. Surprised you gave it a so much press. The G4 ITF in Waco was much stronger...
